The 106th Annual Convention of the American Concrete Pipe Assn. (ACPA) featured the election of a new chairman and board of directors, awards for top plants and individuals, presentations by staff and guests and a look at what the future holds for the industry. The convention was held March 23 to 25 at the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Las Vegas.
Monday’s awards luncheon welcomed the new chairman, Rick Traylor of Rinker Materials, and bid farewell to outgoing Chairman Bill Adams of Hancock Concrete Products.
The luncheon also featured a tribute to Past Chairman Tom Wheelan, with speeches by ACPA President Matt Childs, Ron Metzger and Bill Washabaugh. Joyce Wheelan and her three daughters were present. Joyce thanked attendees for their generous support of the memorial fund named in her husband’s honor. An auction held on the final night raised more than $50,000 for the ACPA Education and Research Foundation.
