ACPA Foundation Honors 2026 Scholarship Recipients at Pipe School

Irving, Texas – March 19, 2026 – The American Concrete Pipe Association (ACPA) Foundation proudly recognized the recipients of its 2026 Besser Company and Mel C. Marshall Scholarships during Pipe School 2026, the industry’s premier educational event. This year’s distinguished recipients, Clay Fisher and Gage Kahl, were each awarded a $3,500 scholarship for their academic achievement, leadership, and passion for contributing to the future of the concrete pipe industry.

Both recipients were welcomed on stage during the event’s award ceremony to formally accept their scholarships. Each delivered a speech expressing their gratitude and enthusiasm for continuing to grow within the industry.

“Supporting emerging leaders like Clay and Gage reflects our commitment to strengthening the future of the concrete pipe industry,” said Margarita Takou, Ph.D., P.E., Vice President of the ACPA Research and Education Foundation. “These students represent the innovation, dedication, and forward-thinking mindset that will take our industry to new heights.”


About the Scholarship Winners

Besser Scholarship Recipient – Clay Fisher

Clay Fisher has distinguished himself through exceptional academic performance and an eagerness to deepen his involvement in the concrete pipe industry. His work ethic and technical curiosity set him apart as an emerging leader. During his acceptance speech at Pipe School, Clay expressed sincere appreciation to the Foundation and emphasized his commitment to pursuing a career that advances innovation in concrete pipe and education.

Mel C. Marshall Scholarship Recipient – Gage Kahl

Gage Kahl was honored for his strong academic record, practical industry engagement, and passion for continuing the legacy of knowledge-sharing championed by Mel C. Marshall. Onstage at Pipe School, Gage shared how the scholarship will support his educational goals and reaffirmed his dedication to contributing meaningfully to the concrete pipe community.
