GCPA Appoints New State Engineer

GCPA-Featured-Image-Joe-Chevrier-3Georgia – September 2022 – The Georgia Concrete Pipe Association (GCPA) is pleased to announce it has named Joe Chevrier to the position of State Engineer for Georgia.

In his new role, Joe will work closely with the concrete pipe industry professionals from across the state to assist & support local municipalities, DOT engineers, and other public & private stakeholders in meeting their critical infrastructure needs. As State Engineer for the GCPA, Joe’s focus will be on specification consultation, technical training, and installation best-practices to ensure robust support for concrete pipe and box culvert products.

“We could not have found a better representative for the concrete pipe industry in Georgia. Joe has worked with producers, contractors, state & local governments, and consultant engineers on a wide range of projects,” said Cecil Connor, State Director for the GCPA. “Joe will bring his expertise in delivering resilient and high-performance solutions utilizing concrete pipe for critically important US infrastructure.”

“With an expected life span in excess of 100 years, it is critical that we share the long-term benefits of concrete pipe and culvert in an effort to avert repairing our drainage systems prematurely,” states Chevrier. “The future costs associated with digging up and replacing inferior products far outweighs the initial investment in selecting the highest performing materials available today.”

A longtime resident of Georgia, Joe resides in Gwinnett County with his wife and their six-year-old daughter.

Chevrier began his state engineer position for the GCPA in August 2022.
